Go Soft on Your Teeth

When you get up in the morning and brush your teeth, it is almost like a reflex action.  You really don’t think what you are doing, just applying toothpaste on your electric toothbrush, switching it on and brushing your teeth.  But there are some things that you must consider and give thought to it, because teeth are living organisms and need to be cared and kept clean.  Just by performing a few simple tasks every day, your teeth can be healthier.

Cavities on the teeth are caused by the food that could build up on your teeth.  Plaque can build up if there is no regular cleaning and foods like sugar can actually eat away portions of your teeth.  It is definitely important to brush your teeth, but brush them softly, slowly and carefully.  If you use a soft toothbrush, it is good for your teeth as well as for your gums; otherwise the gum lines tend to recede.  Use small circular motions to brush your teeth so that the gums do not get affected.

Refrain from using tooth whitening products because they are harmful for your teeth.  Your teeth have a layer of calcium and it could be dissolved to expose a whiter layer.  Also the teeth become weak and unhealthy.  If you use toothpaste which contains a bit of whitening or baking soda and peroxide, it is enough to whiten your teeth.

Rinsing your mouth with a mouthwash which contains fluoride will help to make your teeth strong.  Actually, if you use mouthwash just once a day, it is enough to protect your teeth from cavities.  The fluoride in the mouthwash gives a soothing effect in your mouth, so you should not eat or drink for about half an hour after rinsing.  After all, it is not necessary for you to wash the fluoride away from your mouth, because it can have a healing effect on the soft spots in your teeth. If you nurture your teeth, they will stay with you forever.
